New service - Abingdon to JR hospital via Redbridge P&R

Due to the large number of passengers wishing to travel to the John Radcliffe Hospital, we introduced a new service on Monday 25^th January 2010: the X23.

The service begins in Abingdon during the morning peak hours, and after 10:00, it starts from Redbridge Park&Ride. X23 journeys follow the X13 route from Abingdon to St Clements Street and then operate via Headington Road (for Oxford Brookes University) and Osler Road to the John Radcliffe Hospital. The service is more direct than the current routes, with reduced waiting time in the city centre, and a shorter overall journey time. Click here for more details.

BrookesBus - a brand new fleet

On 1 July 2009, we took over operation of all BrookesBus services using brand new low emission buses.

• Services U1, U4, U5, NU1 and NU5 have continued
• New, ultra-low emission double-deck buses are being used
• Discounts are available on all other Oxford Bus Company services for Brookes students and staff with a Brookeskeyannual and semester pass
• A new Zone has been added to our local network: Zone D.

We have been serving the city for nearly 130 years and in that time we have met many challenges and have emerged as a modern, customer-focused company with an emphasis on community engagement and social and environmental responsibility. Ours is the lowest emission fleet in the UK, and the buses we use for the BrookesBus service have emissions lower than those of the exacting “Euro 5” standard. The new Brookes Buses have leather seats, air-conditioning, Wi-Fi and real-time information screens.
